As we’re watching the last sunsets of 2020 in the peaceful surroundings of the Great Sahara Desert, we look back and reflect on the extremely challenging and unusual year.
Without a doubt, 2020 has been tough for all of us and changed our lives in ways we could never imagine. We miss dearly our travelling community, families, and friends. It’s difficult not to be out on the road exploring and connecting with people and places.
The impact of the pandemic across the world is huge, especially on the tourism sector. Since travel and tourism is a vital income for local communities and small independent businesses, this year has been a great challenge for those whose sources of income have been deeply affected. We work very closely with local communities here in Morocco.
Each of our journeys directly supports local families, artisans, and small independent businesses. The passing year has brought great challenges for all of us and with the start of a new year, we’re committed even more to support local communities and families that have helped so many of us create unique lifetime memories.
When travels become possible again, let’s continue to explore the world with even greater consciousness and awareness of the impact we have on people and places we visit, as it is people we meet on our journeys that make travelling a special experience.
We believe that after difficult times, the need for slow, conscious travel and deep, meaningful experiences will grow so we can explore the world and its precious communities with much needed respect. Thank you to all that travelled with us and continue to support us through difficult times. With new cultural projects and plans for the coming year, we will continue to empower and help local communities to stand on their feet after a difficult
time. Let’s start a new year with gratitude and much needed positive shift. Let’s hope 2021 will bring us endless travels far and wide, enriching cultural experiences, and fill our lives with adventures and stories! Wishing everyone a peaceful, healthy, and hope-filled New Year!
